Our Story
Celebrating over 30 years of dance!
In 1987, right after college and starting a family, Grace Noyes, Needham Dance Theatre owner and Artistic Director, realized her lifelong dream and established Needham Dance Theatre. Our humble beginnings were in the lower hall of the Carter Memorial Church.
We didn’t stay there long as our program blossomed, securing our place as a program of excellence for the children of Needham and the surrounding communities.
Through the years, our experienced and creative teaching staff has devoted themselves to providing the highest quality dance education, addressing the needs of each child as a whole by focusing on mental and physical well-being, confidence-building, and happiness.
We are proud to have had many dancers go on to perform in acclaimed ballet companies or major in dance in college. Our goal is to teach solid dance technique while fostering a love of dance in each of our students, regardless of their ability. Season after season, we continue to provide a noncompetitive, positive environment in which children learn and thrive.
All of us in the Needham Dance Theatre family share one mission: for our students to grow, learn, and feel great about themselves through the unique joy that only dance provides.
